Last year, I bought one of those bird-a-day desktop calendars. The kids and I enjoyed flipping the page each day to see what new, beautiful creature would greet us. I kept the calendar because the birds were too gorgeous to throw out. Lately, I’ve been flipping through and painting a few of them, looking at the calendar for reference.
These are all about 4×6 on watercolor paper. I paint with watercolors and the Neocolor II artist crayons, then add detail with various markers, gel pens, and pencils.
Chestnut-sided Warbler (my favorite!)
Which one is your favorite? If I accumulate enough of these, maybe I’ll make my own calendar next year! These would make cute notecards. I’ll probably start with that.
Art Shop News!
I now have a print of my Faith painting available. She is 8×10, matted to fit an 11×14 frame. The print comes with a white matt, ready for you to frame (frame pictured is not included). I am very happy with the quality of color on these….hope you like her!
I also have a fine art notecard of my Be Joyful painting. This one is 5×7, blank inside. It is so cute it could be framed! Check it out…
That’s the art news update, friends!
