God cares about sparrows, and orphans too. It has been SO awesome to see people come together at Art for Adoption in support of the Schaadt family’s adoption. I’ve held three rounds of auctions that have raised almost $800 for them. And the best part, that amount is doubled with the matching grant. That’s $1600!!! It is incredible to me that my accumulated art could be used for such a worthy cause. I couldn’t be happier, or more blessed to be part of this. It feels so good to see my art go to people all over the country, and to know they will think of Nyah each time they look at it hanging on their wall. I am running one more auction right now, hop on over to the Facebook group to check it out. Here is one of the pieces up for auction:
“Expect God to triumph gloriously and bring your soul into blossom” – Lillias Trotter
Now, for the other exciting news!!
I have been busy today preparing for the gallery show that opens next week. It still sounds crazy to say that. What a tremendous opportunity and blessing God has given me! My art will be featured at Mayflower Arts Center from February 17th-March 5th. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Schaadt family. The opening reception is next Wednesday night from 6-8pm at the gallery. Click the link above to go to their website, or here to go to the Facebook event. I would love to see friends at the opening, if you can make it!
“Little Sparrow” is one of the pieces that will be on display in the gallery. I just framed her today! She was inspired by the thought that God cares for us in even the smallest details of our lives. “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father” (Matthew 10:29).
What do you think? I really like her and the sweet little bird over her shoulder.
Thank you for checking out my art and these important events. You are making a tangible difference in Nyah’s life, helping to bring her home to her family. Would you pray the gallery show goes well? It would mean so much to me. Thank you for being here, and part of this journey.
